We handle mixing projects for every music genre and voice-overs and sound for video. The Samurai Hotel has a state of the art studio that boasts an 800 square foot live room with 18-foot ceilings, two isolation rooms, and a vocal isolation booth. We are fully equipped to record everyone from solo singers to 18 piece bands.
As musicians ourselves, we take our sound technology seriously. The Samurai Hotel features only the best equipment, including a wide array of mircrophones, outboard microphone pre-amps coupled with the API DSM 24-channel mixing console. We also provide Otari MX-80 2” analog tape recording. In addition, our writer’s suite is equipped with the Avid Control 24 with both rooms running Pro-Tools HD. For more information on our gear, view our equipment list.
REMOTE RECORDING
The Samurai Hotel offers live on-site multi-track digital recording up to 32 channels.
All location recording dates will be negotiated on a case by case basis, depending on complexity of setup,
time required, and transportation requirements.
STAFF
Owner/Chief engineer David Stoller has been involved in the NYC/Philadelphia music industry for two decades.
His early experience as producer, audio engineer, working musician, and graduate from Drexel University had led him to a position as an assistant engineer at the legendary Sony Music Studio’s NYC in 2004. It was at Sony where David refined his craft by working close with top industry engineers and various artists like Wallace Roney, Harry Connick Jr., Yo-Yo-Ma, LL Cool J, and Kenny Garrett.
After Sony closed doors in 2008, David set out to start The Samurai Hotel Recording Studio in Brooklyn. In the fall of 2012 David expanded his studio to a larger space in Astoria, NY. He has maintained a strong emphasis on recording Jazz and brings a diverse variety of expert experiences in Electronic, Rock, Urban and Classical genres.
